Welcome to Le Moulin de Beaumont's Guestbook

We'd like to thank all our guests for the comments they make in the guest book at Le Moulin de Beaumont and the letters and emails they send us, along with the reviews they leave.  Here is a chance to share some of them and bring a visit to the mill house, Le Moulin de Beaumont, to life.

A big thank you to Sian and Richard for providing the perfect holiday home. The welcome basket and card were very much appreciated.

We have just returned from our second holiday at Le Moulin with the third one already booked for next year.

The house, garden and pool area are wonderful and you don’t really need to venture far if you want a perfect relaxing holiday.

The house is ideally located, very quiet but close enough to the coast. We visited Futuroscope, the zoo at La Palmyre, the coastal walk at St Palais and the steam train from La Tremblades to Soujon. The rest of our 3-week stay was spent in and around the pool area and exploring the garden and mill stream.

We are already counting down to our return visit.

Mr Roy Craft,

We have had 2 wonderful family holidays at Le Moulin. It is a beautiful clean house. The garden is fabulous and our boys love running around playing football and cricket. The pool has provided hours of fun.
It is close to the beaches and there are some lovely cycling routes.
Our boys are keen to return a third time!!

Procter Family,

Our 2nd visit to the Moulin, was every bit as good as the first. As you turn off the main road, you know you are in for a real treat - the feeling of the outskirts of Cravans is precisely what you imagine when you think of 'rural France'. Fields of wheat, meadows of wild flowers and not a white line to be seen on the road! The Moulin is immaculately presented, with tiled floors covering the ground floor - perfect for when the mercury goes over 35 - which it did for us for four days running and it wasn't even June yet! The pool is wonderful, using salt instead of chlorine, which doesn't smell or sting your eyes. We spent hours in it! We tried the local restaurant (Le 143) in the village for the first time this year and had a delicious two-course lunch for just 14 Euros! We did travel to the coast once and had lunch in a seaside restaurant but, to be honest, with such a beautiful house and swimming pool at our disposal, we haven't really explored a great deal of the area. Have already booked next year!

Nigel and Claire,

We had a wonderful holiday at your beautiful house. We have stayed in many holiday properties but have never seen one so well-presented inside and out. And the garden is just fabulous. We spent hours playing boule and laying under the trees on sunbeds, reading. We re-visited some favourites - Rochelle, Cognac, Saintes, and shopped in Royan - such an attractive town. All in all a truly memorable holiday and so relaxing - just what we wanted. We hope that your lovely home from home will continue to provide outstanding holiday memories for visitors for years to come.

Well worth the 2 day drive! Photos didn't really do it justice - we immediately felt at home. Such a peaceful place. Whether it's a swim in the pool, watching the hoopoes on the lawn, photographing the dragonflies by the bridge or watching the sun go down with a cold beer, it's all here. Morning cycle ride for bread and crossaints set the scene for the day. We wanted a quiet, relaxing holiday which could provide plenty to do and see if we so wished - this did it! Memorable.

We had a lovely holiday and all loved your house. The 2 weeks just flew by with lots of good memories to take us through the winter. Thank you also for the welcome basket and card, it was very kind. During our stay the weather was generally very good with a few days getting right up to the mid-thirties. The thunder and lightening was, however, like something from a Hollywood movie! We had some interesting visitors at the moulin - deer grazed outside the property, birds of prey regularly flew over head, loads of insects, birds, butterflies and my boys loved watching the little bats fly overhead towards the trees at dusk. We loved our whole experience and got to see lots of little towns, beaches and visited the zoo too.

Thanks Siân and Richard for providing such a beautiful and tranquil hideaway for our holiday! Surmounted, surpassed, exceeded all expectations - we were truly happy for our week here. Our 2 and 4 year olds loved the Zoo at Palmyre - feeding popcorn to the giraffes - a surreal and joyous experience!
Otherwise we just swam, barbequed, played boules and cricket and simply ran around the garden endlessly. I am sure some happy childhood memories were created here for our children. We really hope to return. Many thanks.

We've had a really perfect holiday here. The house, garden and particularly the pool have been so lovely and have really created a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere for us. We were thrilled when we got here as it is actually much nicer than it looks on the website. We feel sad to be leaving and will return as soon as we can.

The Ryan Family

We've had a really enjoyable and relaxing time at the moulin, which we found well furnished and exceptionally clean. The visitor's book and Moulin information book were really useful for restaurants and advice - thank you. Beaches around this area, especially the Grand Cote, are beautiful and we will be very sad to leave this beautiful house and area.

We had a fab time at the house and hired extra bikes from the company you recommended who were brilliant. Really got to know the local area. Kids discovered they love oysters which were plentiful and cheap! Lots of wildlife for my son to enjoy and relaxing places for my daughter and husband. All in all something for everyone

We had a wonderful week in the gite, which was perfect inside and out. The welcome pack was the best we found and the property is light. We managed to catch many crayfish which we dutifully returned to the stream, as it seemed churlish to eat them once the children had ascribed them both names and personalities!
